Two talented mechanical design engineers have joined the team at Warwick Audio Technologies.

Neil Davies, previously a design engineer with Panasonic Manufacturing, has worked on a wide range of design projects, from set-top boxes to LCD TVs. His design for one of the UK’s first Freeview Converter Boxes won him an in-house award, and his design skills encompass artwork and packaging design, through to the design and detail of large plastic and metal parts.

Before joining Panasonic, Neil trained in Industrial and Product Design, and ran his own company, Brasil Model Makers, for nine years, producing appearance models and engineering prototypes for a range of clients, including Sony Manufacturing UK Ltd and Hitachi Consumer Electronics. Moving on from Brasil, Neil worked as a rapid prototype technician for PDR (UWIC). He was employed by Panasonic in 1998.

Working alongside Neil will be Stephen Howells, also a skilled design engineer, with 10 years’ experience working for Panasonic Manufacturing. Stephen’s particular expertise includes working with 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages to design high-end LCD products. He was also a successful troubleshooter for Panasonic, and was the company contact for technical issues in overseas manufacturing plants.

David Hoare, head of engineering for Warwick Audio Technologies, says: “Both Neil and Stephen are skilled engineers and we are delighted that they have joined Warwick Audio’s expanding engineering team.”

Neil and Stephen will both be working at Warwick Audio’s engineering centre in South Wales.
