Fit, Form and Function

In order to meet the practical requirements for the majority of applications, our speakers are offered in the equivalent paper sizes from A5 and larger, through to A3. The thickness of our speaker laminate is no more than 0.2mm. You are able customise your design within these guidelines.

Our largest speakers are suitable for large auditoriums, while the smallest are suitable for a car interior. Intermediate sizes are suitable for classrooms, interactive displays and a host of other applications.

As the worlds only flat and flexible loudspeaker, you are able to form the speaker over a surface, as long as you have suitable mechanical support. For instance, the speaker might be applied as a column wrap creating broader sound coverage in a retail environment.

Our speaker laminate produces directional sound – sound waves that are directed to your audience. As a result the sound levels do not fall away rapidly as you stand further from the speaker, as with a conventional speaker. Instead, they remain at a more uniform level throughout your audience.

Understanding the benefits of directionality is best explained in terms of analogy with lighting. To get the best out of lighting we use shades and reflective surfaces to direct lighting to where it is needed. Without the directionality lightening in modern spaces loses ambience. Similarly by creating directional sound, FFL technology improves the ambience of the listening experience.
